Pen and Paper and Blue Sky
As a little girl, my favorite thing to do was write and draw. It didn’t matter where I was - it seems I was always asking for paper and pencil so I could sit quietly and entertain myself for hours at a time. I was also fascinated by handwritten words - namely my Mom’s whose penmanship, to this day, is the inspiration behind my calligraphy. I was intrigued by letter forms and the way a pen or pencil glides across the paper to make words come to life. My Dad also played a huge role in my love of letters. As an engineer in the 70s and 80s, he would bring home lettering decals that were used for plans, and I would trace and copy the different fonts. I was introduced to the Edwardian and Old English scripts for the first time through those decals and was mesmerized by each swell and hairline.
Over the years, I have honed my passion for letter forms into a skill that is as timeless as it is beautiful. I am so blessed to be able to serve my clients with unique, custom designs that highlight lettering and calligraphy, in traditional and modern forms. My goal is to create a work of art with each invitation, envelope, and personalized gift. Whether it’s with pen and ink, a brush, or an engraver, I want my clients to experience the beauty of bespoke and handmade traditions…. and to feel that their vision is inspired by Love.
The name “Blue Sky” is a nod to The Allman Brothers Band’s Blue Sky… we lovingly named our small homestead Blue Sky because it truly is our piece of it.
Peace and Blessings,
Ivet Bandirma, Calligrapher & Engraver

WORKING TOGETHER
How I work with my clients
I am so excited to help my clients bring their vision to life! With that in mind, before contracting my services, please spend time reviewing my work to ensure that you like and trust my artistic style and abilities. I will take great care to create something unique and beautiful for your special occasion!
Art and Handwritten Work
Please keep in mind that, unlike computer-generated text, the beauty of handwritten calligraphy is in the natural variation of the letter forms. Therefore, it is impossible for my hand to every stroke in the same way every single time. These variations result in every piece of writing being a distinctive work of art. All creations done by hand will have these variations, and my hope is that you will enjoy the timelessness of hand-calligraphed and personalized stationery and gifts, and appreciate this quality.
Licensing
As the artist, I remain the sole owner of all artistic rights. Commissioned art is for personal use only. Separate commercial licensing agreements are available, upon express written request.
Photography
Emailed copies of professional photography taken of my work are always appreciated. You are encouraged to share images on social media (credit with “Blue Sky Inspirations Calligraphy and Engraving”). If sharing on Instagram, please tag @blueskyinspirations2019.
Changes to Quantity
If the quantity of guests/product decreases after the deposit has been made, the original agreed-upon terms remain in effect.
Text Submission
I will copy the texts submitted to me exactly as they are. Please not that for commissioned pieces, no changes may be made after work has begun. Name/address lists must be provided as an Excel spreadsheet. If the text is not submitted by the requested date, it is likely to delay the order deadline. If an order must be expedited, charges will apply.
Additional Blanks
Please understand that errors are inevitable with hand-produced work. For projects such as envelopes and place cards, please provide a minimum of 20% additional blank product with a minimum of 10 count. The more extras I have, the faster I can work and the sooner the order will be completed.
Corrections
Please review the final order upon receipt to be sure there are no corrections needed. If any corrections are needed, please email a complete list within 72 hours of delivery.
Note About Calligraphed Mail
With any handwritten address, the automated postal scanners may have trouble reading the envelope. Any address that cannot be read by machine is routinely hand-inspected and mailed by the postal employees.
